International Vaccine News - Where Are We At?
By Jack Porter - 23-03-2022
As of March 23 2022, 11.1 Billion Covid vaccine doses have been administered with a global average of 142 dose per 100 people.

It has become common to measure vaccine dose administration by how many have been given out per 100 people. The scary part from reading stats like this comes when looking at the difference between some countries doses administered.
Canada = 216 doses per 100 people
United Kingdom = 209.8 doses per 100 people
Congo = 0.9 doses per 100 people
Chad = 2.5 doses per 100 people
The 50 least wealthy countries on earth have around 21% of the world population. Lets take a guess on what percent of global vaccines they hold. 25%, no. 20%, no. 15%, no. 10%, NO. The 50 least wealthy countries only hold 7.7% of the Vaccines. The United States holds 5% by themselves.(Randal, 2020) These stat clearly display the vaccine inequality the Global South is facing
This is why the Vaccine equity project is so important, we might not have a large audience but we are doing whatever we can to help Canadians and other vaccine wealthy countries understand the struggles of the rest of the world. We want to make it clear that it is one us, the developed countries to do everything we can to provide the same amount of equality we have to those who are in desperate need
